Events

As a result of competing at the Queensland Athletics State Championships in January, or by making the qualifying times, 11 of our athletes have qualified for the Australia Athletics National Championships being held in Sydney 11-14 March. The athletes are: Yarnell Fischer, Elise Bourke, Katherine Stevens, Liam Gee, Samantha Formby, Alice Robinson, Laura Hogg, Nathan Swan, Hoani Tepania, Michael Criticos, Manaaki Tepania.

Well done to all of these athletes.

March also sees some of our Little Athletics’ athletes competing at the State Athletics Champs in Townsville.

CROSS COUNTRY

Queensland Athletics have released their Winter Calendar. Go to www.qldathletics.org.au and click on Winter Calendar for details. The first Cross Country event will be at Chermside on March 13^th. More details will be available shortly on the QA website.

FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is an ongoing job for our club. All ideas greatly accepted.

On 20/3/10, 28/3/10 and 1/4/10 We are looking for volunteers to help sell chocolates at Bunnings, Cannon Hill. There will also be a BBQ at Bunn ings in May.

QA Fees

Queensland Athletics have changed the registration dates to align themselves with Queensland little Athletics. This year athletes who wish to run in winter and summer will need to pay the winter only fee on the 1^st April and the full registration fee on the 1^st October.

FEE STRUCTURE Winter 2010 REGISTRATION FEES

Winter Only Athlete (April 1 – September 30, 2010) $40.00

Covers athlete for Cross Country, Road Running & Road Walking and

Winter Track and Field competitions only. Full insurance coverage.

Club Athlete (April 1 – September 30, 2010) $20.00

Covers athletes that only compete in club events and cannot compete

in QA events or Queensland State Championships. Full insurance Coverage

Dual Registered Athlete (April 1 – September 30, 2010) $20.00

Covers the athlete for all competitions. Available to registered athletes from

Queensland Little Athletics (U13-U15 only). Full insurance coverage.

Technical Official / Volunteer / Coach (April 1 – September 30, 2010) $10.00

Does not allow member to take part in any competition as an athlete.

Full insurance coverage

*Note: All manual (not online) registrations will incur a $2.50 processing fee.

** Note: If an athlete joins under one category and then wishes to upgrade to another category they need to pay only the difference between the two fees.

*** Note: If clubs have not paid affiliation fees by this time they will not be able to register athletes or have access to the QA insurance coverage.
