TEES Athletes in Commonwealth Qualifiers, Rachel Dodds breaks World Record PDF Print E-mail

Tui Edwards brings fantastic news ...
Well guys I have had fantastic news back from our club president Eddie Fabian last night of some great performances at the :
88th Australian Athletics Championships - Perth - **Commonwealth Selection Trials**
The 3 athletes attending from Thompson Estate Athletics:
Yarnell Fisher Open                                                                 200m
Tristra Moxham AWD (Athletes' with Disability)                     T20 400m & Long Jump
Rachael Dodds AWD (Athletes' with Disability)                       T35 100m & 200m
Of the results that came back, Yarnell was the youngest athlete in the Open (17yrs) 200m so his performances in stepping up into men's divisions will most certainly gain him ranking in Australia as he progresses to Men's Division, Tristra Moxham recorded personal best performances for her events and classification and Rachael Dodds brought home the gold and new world record for her classification as an AWD athlete for 200m AWD T35.
What an awesome effort Guys!
It is very difficult for the average person to understand the conversion of effort put forth by these athletes to compete at this level, it certainly is not easy and alot of hard work is sacrificed by all parties to help these kids reach their dreams, keep up up the hard work and I am sure we will continue to see great things from all TEES athletes and hopefully some Olympic places attained in the future.
Keep up the great effort everyone, the performances can't happen without unification of parents, athletes, coaches and members all working together to help the athletes in this club reach their goals and dreams.

hey guys, liam- well today was day 1 of my 2nd nationals as i got to sydney airport at 10:10 am. The 1st day was overcast windy and cold but luckily it didn't rain. The track conditions are good as long as it stays dry. I race tomorrow in the 800m heats im felling pretty confident but with a little bit of nerve as i have unknown competition. Well thats all for the first day i will update tomorrow laters.

heyy, its Elise. Today was pretty cool, i didn't compete but oh well. Its not that cold here, and its really confusing because of daylight savings so yeah, can't wait to compete tomorrow, i will tell youn how i go when i have competed cyas :)

heyy, its Liam to day i was meant to do 800m heats today but was canned n changed to a straight final but the team managers didnt tell me till after i had warmed up and was in the call room so i had no comp today but a good training session so im now competing on saturday. Laters

hey it's Sam-.I'm not Competeing until Sunday so i've been having a lot of fun.Yesterday i went out to the track because I have never been to Sydney or Nationals before.I was quite nervous but when i saw everyone competing and did my own session with Tui i convinced myself that i could only do my best and i didn't feel so nervouse anymore.Today i went to the Sydney harbour And The Opera House and Bondi Beach all places i've never been before this was one of the benefits of being here in Sydney. We will spend the next two days at the Stadium watching the athletes compete. Can't wait till sunday when it's my turn.By for now :)

Heyy, its elise again! :P, I competed on friday and i came 13th overall. I think i did pretty good for my first time ever going. I thought that it was an awesome experiencem, and i would love to do it again, just want to say thanks to tui for her support and help :) :)
