Results
The year has started off well with a number of TEES athletes qualifying for the March Australia Athletics Champs in Sydney. These athletes are – Elise Bourke, Hannah Schlecht, Zebulun Windolf, Nick Licastro, Latrell Soli, Ewerton Almeida, Vandy Kanneh, Liam Gee, Matt Oberg, Michael Criticos, Yarnell Fischer and Andrew Kelly.

TEES athletes have also competed in Regional Little Athletics Competions and many have qualified for State Champs to be held next month in Brisbane. Some of these athletes are – Samantha Whitting, Christabel Kingdon, Luke Kingdon, Katrina Robinson, Hannah Schlecht, Daniel Rolley, Michael Criticos.
Apologies to any athletes whose names I have missed off these lists. We also have members who have qualified to compete at the upcoming School State Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships.

Annual General Meeting
The President and Committee would like to extend an invitation to all Club Members and their families and other interested persons to attend the Clubs Annual General Meeting for 2011 & Club Trophy Presentations.
When: Monday March 28th 2011
Where: Carina Bowls Club
Time: 6:30pm
The Club will be providing a BBQ dinner, you are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share, to allow for catering please complete RSVP list at the Club House by the 21st March.
Fundraising raffles will be conducted on the night.

Cross Country
The Cross Country season starts next month. See our website for the draft Queensland Athletics Calendar of events. We will be looking for volunteers to help at the Minnippi Parklands meet as TEES hosts this one. If you are interested in competing in Cross Country Relays please contact Rosalie@

Apply now for a Local Sporting Champions Grant
Are you, or do you know, a dedicated young athlete, coach or official participating in a state or national sporting championships? Are you aged 12-18 years old travelling further than 250km return for a state or national championships? If yes, then you or your team could be eligible for a Local Sporting Champions grant to help meet costs such as uniforms, travel, accommodation and equipment.
Grants of $500 per individual and $3,000 per team are available for young people participating in a nominated National Sporting Organisation-endorsed state or national sporting championships or a School Sport Australia national championship. This program is an Australian Government initiative managed by the Australian Sports Commission and supports 7,000 young people each year. The grants are designed to help athletes, coaches and officials achieve their sporting goals and are distributed across all 150 federal electorates of the national parliament. Applications are open, so apply now!
Applications must be submitted prior to the commencement of the nominated championships.
