It is with great sadness that we farewell Anna Casey. She passed away on the morning of Saturday 20 August after her battle with cancer.  She died peacefully and was not in pain when she finally passed away.
Anna was a life member of Thompson Estate Eastern Suburbs Athletic Club and was an active member of the committee and in all club fundraising activities until her recent illness. She was also an active and dedicated official with Queensland Athletics, Queensland Little Athletics, Queensland Masters Athletics and Australian Athletics. Anna officiated regularly at many of the primary and secondary school competitions and was well known and respected by all of the athletes.
Anna will be dearly missed. We have lost a valued club member and good friend.

APOLOGIES
Ewerton Almeida's name was left out of last month's list of successful athletes at the Downunder Champs. Ewerton came 2nd in the 100m.

EVENTS
State Primary Athletics Championships were held this month at QSAC. Congratulations to all TEES members who participated. Good luck to Daniel Rolley and Katrina Robinson who earned their places on the Queensland Team and will be competing in 3 weeks at Darwin in the National Championships. Daniel came first in his 800m race and 3rd in his 200m race. Katrina came 2nd in her 800m race.

Australia Cross Country Championships
These were held last weekend in Canberra. TEES had a number of athletes who competed and all ran well in cold conditions. Our 11 year old girls did particularly well with Katrina Robinson winning gold and Samantha Whitting coming 4th.

Secondary Track and Field
Both the Regional and State Athletic Champs for Secondary Students will be held next month. Good luck to you all!

REGISTRATIONS
Registration for the new Queensland Athletics year will be due on October 1st. This will be able to be done online soon. You will not be able to compete at many QA events unless you are registered.

BALMORAL LITTLE ATHLETICS

If you are a paid up LIttle Athletics Member you do not have to pay for QA membership if you are in the U13-U15 age groups.
